There is time for everything
During this time of the global pandemic, it is only natural to narrow down our lens and focus on self-preservation. When uncertainty seeps into our lives and seems to dictate the future, it is difficult to look beyond ourselves, but we rather grab hold of what is at hand.
However, now more than ever is the time to allow our faith to work, and consider those who are worse off than we. Now is the time to be kind, to give hope, and show compassion. Now is the time to give, truly sacrificially give, the opportunity to hope and live to others.

From the Residents-
Ato Estifanos Amare
Ato Estifanos has taken a lead role among the residents and has been a great support. When asked what concerns them the most current, acknowledging there are many underlying troubling issues, they listed three areas. First is the recent conflict in neighboring regions that left so many dead, flooding, locust attacks that devastated some farming areas, and the COVID-19 pandemic.
As far as life at the center is concerned, he asserted that their basic needs are met with the allotted monthly budget. He also stated that due to COVID, fewer people are visiting the center, and they, following guidance, do not go out that much. In addition, the pandemic has made it impossible for them to seek additional resources as it is too high of a risk for them to go out and about.
Although it has been a difficult and worrisome time, they seem to be in good spirits.
In an effort to prevent exposure to COVID, he spoke of the precautions they take: washing their hands with soap and water and taking care of their hygiene and keeping a clean center. “clean hands for clean health” is their motto.
